Colnago Serial Number Chart
Sep 11, 2012 The Master and Tecno have the serial number stamped on the Right Rear Dropout. From recent threads, I read that Colnago now place the serial number on the Front Derailleur Mount. But there isn't one on my C50 but I did find a serial number stamped on the Left Rear Droput, just like the photo shown on www.cyclingnews.com.
I will soon be selling my treasured Master X Light but first it would be nice to get an accurate date for the production of the frame. I seem to remember someone on the forum helping me with this some time ago, but guessing it was in a PM that has since been deleted.
Would someone please steer me in the right direction? Also if you are a taller fellow and have an interest in the bike let's talk offline. It will likely be making a classifieds debut shortly. Just have to pretty her up you know. Thanks for the help! Had the same bike.
I went through a Colnago phase. Titanio, Tecnos, Dream and a Master. I rode 57's and one of them was a Rabobank. Very nice bike, good luck to the new owner.
Check the rear drop outs or the FD hanger. I'm gonna guess and say 2002. The fork can give you a good guess.threadless = post 99' or 2000' if I recall.
BTW, that's an LX23 paintjob I believe. Still in my 'Colnago phase'.

I think that may be a bit 'newer', thinking '05-ish. Keith is right, definitely '02, at least. Sweet frame, Colnago get's a lot of sh*t, but I love mine. Sold it once, mine will be worm food, along with me!! Next, my bike -- an earlier vintage master in Rabo colors from late '90s. Freuler 61cm specs. Originally came from the factory with a time/colnago carbon+aluminum fork, since replaced by this wuler chrome fork when it came into my grimy mitts, which will shortly be replaced by a proper (NOS!) chrome precisa fork.
Mine doesnt have any particular model designation (no 'master light' or 'master x-light' or 'master olympic' or whatever) but the most similar scheme i've seen are labeled 'master olympic'.
