If your ally sucks its very hard, because no matter who kills the creep in your team, both get the money. If you start it alone you get double the income and then its quite easy even on hard. I think on 'hard' the map is maybe bugged, cause the last boss had zero hp left and did not die. On 'normal' that was not the case, but it didn't matter, was the last wave anyway and I am not playing it again to find out whether it really is a bug. All 40 Waves take about an hour to beat so quite long.

#11 So far there aren't any good TDs on the US server. A couple of them are passable, but you get bored of them after 1-2 games. I think most of them are just either insanely easy or insanely boring. There are some where you can literally afk for 10-15 minutes and come back without leaking anything, and others where all towers are basically the same, just with different damage. There's simply nothing interesting out there like WC3 TD maps had, and there's nothing with good replay value like SC/BW TDs had. SC2 custom maps are lacking across the board.

The few decent ones like Marine Arena and Battlecraft are still really poorly balanced so once you figure out what works it's pretty much a guaranteed win every game, which really cuts down on the replay value. I would say wait until the expansion comes out. There will probably be some decent maps by then. People are still learning the editor now, so. I have played some really fun customs with friends that simply are not popular. Probably because the most popular games are tug of wars which are really simple and laid back.:/ I am yet to find a good TD though which I think is pretty odd. I think the odd damage system is to be blamed. I have a really good concept in mind. If I have enough time over christmas to develop it, I will do so. Why is the new damage system so odd? Its so straight forward, versus that unit type it does bla amout of dmg.
