Hello everyone. Sorry for the long delay and the limited post today. I am right in the middle of my graduate capstone project and have not had much time available for PNP Games or BGG in general.

Electric generator. The good news is, I am less than 10 days from being done with school. Blog Updates There have been a ton of updates since my last post with lots of new games, updates, and translations.

Once I get my final project turned in, I will compile all the news and write what will likely be the longest post yet. After that, my goal is release posts weekly so that this blog is much more regular and up-to-date.

Catching up on the news from last month isn’t the only thing I want to do with this blog though. Some of you may have noticed a few categories in this blog that haven’t been used much or at all.

PNP Construction, Interviews, Buzz, etc. When I started this blog I had plans to write articles with tips and tricks for people new to PNP, interviews with designers, etc. However, the challenge of juggling homework with my spare time pretty much limited my blog involvement to news. Now that school is almost out of the way, I’d like to start enacting some of those original plans. Keep an eye out for those news posts coming soon. New Blog Section I’ve also received requests from a few game designers asking if I could write about their older games in this blog.

I had always planned on focusing only on new PNP releases but I do like the idea of talking about older titles that some people may have missed. I’ve been thinking about the best way to do this and I’ve decided to start a new category called “Spotlight” which will focus on older games. This may be a game from my personal collection that I love that I want to talk about. Or it could be a game a designer has asked me to talk about.

The problem is that if I am not particularly interested in a game, I may not want to spend my personal ink and time crafting it. So I came up with an idea for sponsored content that benefits one of my favorite charities. A designer can mail me a copy of the game, I will play it and feature it in the spotlight section, and then will sell the game on the geeklist for the. This way, the game gets exposure on the blog and will also benefit families in need. The Spotlight Category depends on interest from the community.

If designers aren’t interested, the Spotlight will just feature games from my collection and appear much less frequently. I’ll be starting this up on a trial basis in September. If you are interested in having your game featured, please geekmail me. Crowdfunded Games With the Blog news out of the way, let’s get to the Crowdfunded Games.

I’m covering these now so that people can learn about the games before their funding periods end. Unfortunately, in my long hiatus, I missed the funding period for two games. Details below.

By Ortus was available on Kickstarter until July 28, 2013. The PNP Version was available for $1.00 Ortus is a two player fantasy game in which warlords are fighting for superiority. Unfortunately, this game failed to achieve its funding goals and is no longer available.

The good news though is that the designer is planning a relaunch of the Kickstarter campaign. I will let you know when that happens. As cards die, they fall into a garbage can (or you can get more creative about how they are destroyed).
